Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionThe Mayo Clinic Libraries are recruiting a full-time, mid-level medical librarian (Librarian III) to serve as a hospital librarian and expert searcher at Saint Marys Staff Library in Rochester, Minnesota. This position reports to the Library Supervisor at the Saint Marys Staff Library and also serves as a professional member of the Mayo Clinic's library team which includes 16 libraries across the Mayo Clinic enterprise. Primarily working in a hospital library environment, the Librarian III will serve and foster dynamic relationships with clinicians, health professionals, faculty and students. Ideally, the librarian should possess extensive skills in delivering medical and scientific literature searches and systematic reviews. Willingness to gain expertise via formal training will be supported. This position may also include instruction, outreach, collection development, technical troubleshooting, and supplementary support of library operations.Under moderate supervision, the Librarian III performs professional level responsibilities encompassing library science, information management, and information technology. Public services responsibilities may include the provision of reference, research and educational services to faculty, staff, students, patients and others. The Librarian III may direct work unit activity in the absence of the supervisor. Participates on at least one library committee or task force. Occasionally provides input and assists in developing policy and decision making to support the Mayo Clinic Library system. May perform other tasks that support services, maintain workload, or provide coverage in the work unit or elsewhere in the libraries.Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume or CV, and a list of three or more references.Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F-1 OPT STEM.QualificationsMaster’s degree from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent archival degree.Library/archives experience, particularly work experience in a health sciences or scientific research library or institutional archive.
