Duties Description The incumbent to this position would be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Develop familiarity with the laws and rules regarding the eligibility for licenses and permits under the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law. Supervise and training Licensing Services Clerks. Review applications for licenses and permits to determine: if the application is complete; if the applicant and the applicant’s proposed location meet the statutory and regulatory requirements for the license or permit; and identify issues that would be grounds for further review or disapproval of the application. Research records to determine licensing and disciplinary history of applicant’s proposed location. Respond to inquiries from the public regarding general licensing issues. Respond to agency staff regarding specific license and permit applications. Identify deficiencies in applications, advise applicants of such deficiencies and review applicant’s responses to determine if deficiencies have been addressed. Prepare detailed reports providing pertinent information regarding applications for the Licensing Board and/or the Members of the Authority (the “Full Board”) to allow the boards to make informed determinations on the applications. Conduct follow-up investigations of applicants and/or proposed premises to obtain additional information or clarification as requested by the Licensing Board or the Full Board.
