Position Summary: The primary responsibility is the performance of mammography studies requiring independent judgment, extended knowledge and expertise to apply ionizing radiation for radiologic purposes.Education, License & Cert: High school diploma and graduation from an accredited JRCERT Radiologic Technology Program. Certification required; ARRT(M). Mammography certified within two years of employment.Experience: Minimum of six months.Essential Functions: A. Performs as a part of the radiology team to insure excellence, teamwork, and patient centeredness. 1. Contributes to a positive work environment through their interactions with other staff, both internal and external; maintains positive work relationships. 2. Responds in a prompt and courteous manner to requests and inquiries, keeps other staff and patients informed. 3. Accepts criticism, is open to new ideas, and handles conflict constructively and diplomatically; works through conflict for positive solutions/results. B. Performs mammographic radiologic exams 1. Adjusts mammography equipment in selecting the proper radiographic techniques for optimum image quality. 2. Positions patients to obtain the desired radiographic results as specified by ACR and MQSA 4. Reviews images to ensure acceptable quality and completeness for diagnostic purposes. C. Obtains accurate medical history on each patient. 1. Has knowledge of the process to x‐ray tissue specimens sent down from the operating room,Other Duties: A. Ensures that images and records are properly completed with appropriate information such as patient name, B#, technical factors used, etc. B. Maintains clean work area. C. Ensures that area is properly supplied for performing diagnostic procedures and examinations. E. Complete understanding of computer system as it relates to your area. F. Have the ability to gain patient acceptance in having procedure.
