Job DescriptionManager II, Medical Coding Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are hiring aManager,to help lead ourMedical Coding teamfor Radiology, Laboratory Medicine, and Pathology. Role Overview:
Manage and coordinate the daily operations and activities of the Clinical Data Specialists in the Radiology, Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine Coding Unit.
Ensure that patient records are abstracted, profiled and entered into the various clinical systems in accordance with established ICD10-CM, CPT4 AMA and hospital guidelines.
Responsible for E&M visit level, Method of Administration, and other coding and charging.
Responsible for Patient Classification assignments to maximize institutional reimbursement.
Coordinate all activities relative to training, monitoring and planning to ensure adherence to established coding guidelines.
Monitor that the unit's productivity and quality of work is consistent with established standards.
Communicate directly with physicians, hospital administrators, Patient Accounts and the Physician Billing department to ensure that clinical documentation is profiled timely, accurately and in compliance with HCFA national correct coding initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
4-7 years coding credential experience.
2-4 years of supervisory experience in an automated healthcare environment.
Experience handling complex work assignments and/or provide guidance to other less experienced staff.
Extensive knowledge of ICD10-CM coding, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
Radiology, Laboratory Medicine and/or Pathology medical coding experience preferred.
Experience with Epic preferred.
Core Skills:
Information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret and share information with employees and appropriate external contacts.
Strong database & spreadsheet management experience.
The ability to recognize and recommend enhancements among different systems.
Communication skills to write and edit memos, assist in the preparation of the annual report and convey information about operating systems and processes to others.
Analytical skills to identify and explain normal/abnormal trends in data using statistical comparison.
Administrative skills to organize, coordinate agenda and write minutes for meetings, maintain files and records, recommend new policies for improved unit performance.

Location: Hybrid, 2 days on site – Joy Building, 328 E. 62nd Street in NYC.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm
Reporting to the Director, Financial Operations
Pay Range: $109,300 - $174,800.00/annually
