Eaton’s Power Components Division is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering & Operational Excellence to join our team. The role will be based at our Horseheads, NY facility. Position Overview:In this role you will direct activities associated with engineering and Continuous Improvement (CI) including activities of the site lean coordinator and tool champions to achieve plant-wide improvements; outcome business results, and target assessment scores. Direct the site lean coordinator and lean tool champions to ensure the achievement of business results and corporate goals.

Identify and prioritize engineering projects and Lean events based. Drive projects to successful completion as defined by improvements in plant processes and metrics. Lead and/or participate in Kaizen events

Manage, direct, and coordinate the CI and manufacturing engineering function to ensure the achievement of plant goals with a specific focus on safety, productivity, quality, customer metrics and cost out.

Manage manufacturing engineers and engineering supervisors. Provide overall leadership and direction for this group, establish and track meaningful goals in alignment with plant goals.

Ensure manufacturing processes are standardized and consistently deployed. Identify and implement new materials, equipment, processes, technology, and procedures to enhance and improve the product line and its manufacturing processes.

Manage the capacity analysis, capital planning process and execution of the annual capital plan. Prepare and manage manufacturing engineering department budget. Participate in the Strategic Planning by preparing 5-year Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Lean and Capital plans.

Three (3) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment

Tow (2) years of management experience

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing from an accredited institution.

Lean certification and/or knowledge of Lean tools

Knowledge of finance, cost out etc.

Five (5) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Project management experience
