Oversees reviews of existing portfolio credits, manages and recommends credit policies and procedures and monitors the organization's credit risk exposure and provides guidance in portfolio review and strategy.Country:United StatesJob Requirements:Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below

10+ years related experience required

Demonstrated knowledge of credit policies and procedures

Experience in structuring and documenting credits as well as accountability for quality loan portfolios

Proven track record of developing and managing commercial loan credit and services in a high-growth environment

Demonstrated experience supervising/mentoring credit staff

Proven leadership abilities, and organizational and time-management skills

Proven analytical, verbal, writing and interpersonal

Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.

Exercises joint approval authority as delegated and in accordance with Credit Policy

Oversees Commercial Credit Activities that are advanced in complexity, multi-faceted and diverse

Provides leadership, support and guidance to the Credit Team and assists with more complex deals, including meeting with customers

Participates on several decision-making committees for commercial credit and portfolio management

Acts in an advisory and referral role to other Credit Officers, RVPs, Lenders, Portfolio Managers and Analysts in matters of compliance, regulation and policy. Uses experts as needed

Recommends changes in underwriting and policies, including industry reviews

Oversees criticized asset and portfolio review meetings

Confirms the final risk ratings including Borrower Risk Rating (BRR), Facility Risk Rating (FRR), and Industry Risk Rating (IRR)

Protects the assets of the bank through the proper execution and administration of operational and risk management policies and procedures

Performs a leadership role in approving and reviewing credits that exceed subordinated Credit Officers authority as appropriate

Exercises independent judgment by displaying and reaching conclusions on the most complex credit decisions as well as assumes accountability for quality approval decisions and the overall quality of the group/regions loan portfolio

Reviews and endorses recommendations from Market Presidents for limits and adjustments to the Loan Officer authorities as appropriate

Handles post approval sign off on risk ratings within assigned portfolio, above an agreed threshold, for credits approved by Lenders

Exercises authority regarding personnel actions including staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations

Resolves escalated issues and problems by conferring with senior management, staff, other internal departments, outside contacts, and Customers as necessary

Provides technical guidance and assists staff with most complex aspects of work as necessary

Reinforces the organizations Credit Culture and Professional Development

Interacts with Asset Recovery Group, outside counsel and subject matter experts as appropriate
