Together, we’re pioneering the future of science and medicine, developing products that enable researchers in the fight to save lives.Position OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineer will be providing support to manufacturing operations to ensure continuous efficiency as well as overall process performance to design capability and effective engineering services to production, test and packaging machinery. This role also assists with the design and implementation plans for cost reduction, quality improvements, process support and verification. Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms conventional engineering assignments and solutions that may involve equipment or product design, test of materials, specification preparation, process study, research investigations, and other related tasks to improve productivity, reduce scrap and/or other business unit goals

Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work to reduce waste

Initiates documentation change requests, justifies design and process deviation needs, including Risk Assessments, Engineering Studies and/or Validation Protocols that meet required regulations

Identifies, develops and executes cost reduction and process improvement ideas into projects with the assistance of local and corporate departments

Provides training in qualify key production, and train maintenance personnel in equipment troubleshooting, acceptance criteria, product knowledge, and reliability for day-to-day situations to address long-term business goals

Ensures production commitments and efficiency by providing problem analysis, testing, and implementing corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA). Establishes policies, procedures, and guidelines by developing and implementing standards according with the organizational practices

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networking links, benchmarking standard methodologies throughout the industry, and participating in professional organizations

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, keeping business information confidential, administering the system security, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, assuring systems are aligned with laws, regulations, and corporate standards and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment

Stays in sync with QRS, ISO and all applicable regulations and company procedures

Ensures that EMS (Environmental Management Systems) is efficiently implemented and maintained in the area of operations

Leads continual improvement projects to reduce, minimize or eliminate environmental aspects/impacts

Frequently uses technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques

Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity

Assists in completion of breakthroughs associated with specific projects

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

3+ years of experience in the manufacturing environment

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Experience with lean, six sigma, or other continuous improvement techniques

Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Engineering

EIT or PE License and active member of CIAPR

Experience working in a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, ISO, GMP regulations relative to manufacturing

Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Project Management, Statistics)
