The Division of Engineering designs and implements innovative solutions for a wide variety of priorities at Mayo Clinic. We are a unique resource for a healthcare institution, and one that helps Mayo Clinic maintain its #1 rating in the country for healthcare delivery.We are seeking someone with broad experience creating and building; an experienced machinist, model maker, technician, industrial designer, etc. The successful candidate will collaboratively brainstorm new and novel medical devices, applying their mechanical and manufacturing knowledge to design reviews and fabricate components of biomedical systems. The team you will be a part of is focused on delivering exemplary quality.This position will have exposure to a high number of one-of-a-kind short run products with a focus on Mastercam programming and operation of manual and Haas CNC machinery. Other capabilities include plastics fabrication, molding and casting, laser cutting, marking, and welding, waterjet and sheet metal fabrication.They will work in a multi-disciplinary engineering and healthcare environment as a team member and individual contributor. They will be introduced to a variety of engineering processes and controls including our FDA compliant quality management system (QMS) and product safety.Qualifications2-year degree in CNC Computer Integrated Machining | CNC Machinist Technology | Advanced Manufacturing Technology | or equivalent - and 3 years of job experience.Additional qualificationsExtensive knowledge of machine shop operations is required. PC skills required (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Proficient in CNC programming. MasterCAM skills preferred. Proficient in CNC Machining Centeroperations. HAAS Machining Centers experience preferred.
