The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Springhill Maintenanceteam at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

What Will You Do?

Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will provideleadership to the Coupled Pickle Cold Mill mechanical maintenance team, ensuring equipment is maintained to maximise uptime performance and improve plant condition in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. You willlead and mentor a high performing team in a dynamic and exciting manufacturing environment. You will:

  • manage team members in the areas of performance, timekeeping, leave, training and personal development
  • ensure safety standards are adhered to, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified
  • manage maintenance costs
  • supervise maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
  • establish a culture of continuous improvement to eliminate waste and improve team performance

  • Advanced diploma or degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
  • an ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
  • ability to coach and develop others to enhance capability
  • competence in the application of maintenance management systems and processes
  • a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
