Prepare patients for their MRI examinations and clearly explain procedures in layman's terms to alleviate anxiety.
Set up MRI equipment and administer various examinations, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological, and extremities, in a timely manner.
Screen patients in accordance with established protocols and ensure informed consent is obtained when required.
Accurately document patient history and requisition details, including anatomical areas of interest and technical specifications.
Calculate necessary scans and operate MRI equipment to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by the Radiologist.
Monitor patient conditions throughout the procedure and promptly report any changes or concerns to the Radiologist.
Maintain and troubleshoot MRI equipment, performing minor repairs and regular calibration checks.
Assist with patient flow, including scheduling exams and ensuring efficient transitions throughout the imaging process.
Perform related duties as required, following the standards set forth under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
Current registration as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.); ARRT registration in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) preferred.
A minimum of six (6) months of experience as a Radiology Technologist is required. Prior MRI experience is highly preferred.
