MTA IT Security Department

Description: The MTA IT Security Department is seeking (3) Network/Security Consultants for Metro-North Railroad who will be responsible for enhancing the security posture of the agency’s Operational Technology (OT) for the safety and security of employees and passengers.

Responsibilities – • Previous experience with a 24x7x365 industrial control systems OT environment (preferred)• Transportation industry experience (railroad preferred)• Assisting with developing network security and related procedures; and assist with performing network management activities• Knowledge and experience with vulnerability assessment and hardening of PLC, HMI, RTU, serial device server devices, and protocols such as MODBUS, DNP3, IPSEC, SMTP• Experience with vulnerability assessment and hardening Juniper switches/firewalls• Previous experience in vulnerability assessment, hardening, patch management and penetration testing• Knowledge and experience with analog/serial modem based communication• Knowledge and experience with unidirectional gateway/data diode security devices• Juniper JNCIE-SEC certification and/or related experience level• Experience writing Disaster Recovery/Incident Response plans for 24x7x365 industrial control systems OT environment• Preferred experience deploying cybersecurity security and network technology solutions including network behavioral analysis tools, intrusion detection, containment and • Ability to articulate issues that need to be escalated to higher tiered network teams• Troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose/resolve network system problems

Required Skills –• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology• Strong background in Cybersecurity, Security, & Infrastructure Projects• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Network Security• Highly flexible with appropriate sense of urgency and commitment for critical deliverables.
