Happy Cooking Hospitality has operated restaurants in and around New York City’s West Village for over fifteen years. Joseph Leonard, Jeffrey’s Grocery, Fairfax, and Brooklyn’s Sailor are neighborhood restaurants that share a common hospitality mission while remaining distinct entities with their own design, menus, and leadership teams.

We’re adding a full-time salaried Benefits Administration and Office Manager to our company-wide leadership team, which is based in the West Village. Our ideal candidate is a superb communicator who’s organized, detail oriented, and adaptable. We’re looking for someone who loves problem solving, is driven by a strong work ethic, is emotionally intelligent, and brings positivity to their community.

In our company, administration of employee benefits is carried out through a collaborative effort of on-site restaurant managers and a small group of operations leaders. This role calls for constant real-time contact with employees, restaurant leadership, and owners. The Benefits Administration and Office Manager reports to the Directors of Operations and Finance.

Payroll and benefits administration comprises management of the following items through communication with employees, leadership, and service providers:

- Employee onboarding and offboarding

- Health insurance benefits and enrollment

- Sick & Safe Pay, Paid Family Leave and Disability Benefits

- Other Labor-Related Administration includes, but is not limited to, HR/payroll portal maintenance; managing rate of pay changes; handling Department of Labor inquiries; data entry

- Assistance with payroll and time-clock data entry and verification procedures

Office management comprises:

- Inventory management: ordering, tracking, receiving and stocking of restaurant supplies, china, glassware and silverware.

- Physical plant management: keeping the office organized and tidy, filing, taking out the trash

- Menu and materials printing

- Mail collection and processing

Requirements:

- Experience in payroll administration or benefits administration is essential.

- Bachelor or Associate Degree

- Mastery of verbal and written communication skills.

- Motivation to work independently and tackle problems through independent research as well as collaboration.
