Project: Fingerprint Information System (FIPS)

Detailed Job Description: This position is for a Systems Developer Expert to develop/code with the development team for the Fingerprint Information Processing System (FIPS). FIPS is the database of records for adoptive/foster parents, day care providers and mentors that require a criminal history background check be performed as mandated by law.FIPS is the hub for the Child Care Facility System (CCFS), Criminal History Review System (CHRS) and the LiveScan vendor to track applicant status as they move through the background check process. FIPS handles the notifications processing across multiple applications in a well-timed manner to the required endpoint. This process is extremely critical in providing all parties the appropriate information to keep the children secure and comfortable in their environments.The OCFS FIPS application is a long term, ongoing effort in continuing to improve efficiency of handling critical and time sensitive data for OCFS Criminal History Reporting Unit (CHRU) to review and report background status of applicants between multiple applications. The rewrite of FIPS to a .Net infrastructure was deployed in 2015, and continues to grow in terms of State and Federal mandates that require updates and enhancements. There are numerous projects/tasks for FIPS that are currently being planned out with timeframes and deliverables, with a countless number of sub projects in the queue.
