A NYS agency located in Queens, NY is looking for an OT Network Security Analyst for a 12 month contract.

Please note that this position may initially allow for work to be performed remotely. However, consultant will be required to work on-site/in-office at least 2x/month (at their own expense). To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test.

Requirements and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Security and/or Related Field
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an analyst or engineer troubleshooting networks
  • Undergraduate degree in related field
  • CISSP, SANS (GIAC) and other relevant cybersecurity certifications preferred
  • CCNA and other relevant networking certifications preferred
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols & layers
  • Scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell, APIs)
  • Basic understanding of Operations Technology environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate highly technical details succinctly
  • Able and willing to travel to agency locations to troubleshoot or install security products.
  • 6+ years' experience: Information Security

Preferred Skills

  • In-Depth knowledge of Operations Technology Security
  • Hands-on experience implementing and administering enterprise level security tools such as: Nozomi, Splunk, ForeScout, Gigamon, TDI, Deception Technology, Containment Technology, etc.
  • Experience leading security projects and/or investigations
  • Data Visualization tools such as PowerBi

Responsibilities

  • Support the agencies continued efforts with asset discovery, network visualization, vulnerability assessment, risk monitoring and threat detection within the OT Networks
  • Utilize Nozomi Guardian to creating cybersecurity reporting metrics, dashboards, scorecards, and asset inventory based on data provided by the cybersecurity systems
  • Analyze logs and alerts to support the investigation of events, incidents and identifications of anomalous activity and produce reports on findings
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences
  • Learn the agency business environment and basic risk management approaches
  • Support ongoing and new IT Security projects within the OT networks.
  • The OT (Operational Technology) Security Group is seeking a network security consultant to support the agency Cybersecurity Program Projects focused on the and the analysis of information gathered from agency IT's cybersecurity detection systems. We want to ensure the cybersecurity systems, plans and procedures that have been implemented at the agency, have the controls and analysis monitoring in-place to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from incidents.
  • The ideal candidate would work closely with our stakeholders and be responsible for supporting IT Security Projects, monitoring security tools to support the analysis and investigation of events, incidents, vulnerabilities and anomalous activity within our OT environments.
