NJ based fashion accessory company seeks Packaging/Graphic Designer.

Must have exp. in categories including: slippers, socks, cold weather, stationary, headwear, bags, etc. The ideal candidate is a conceptual thinker, talented graphic artist, highly detailed and excited by bringing delight to consumers through well designed and eye-catching 2D and 3D packaging as well as fun looking header cards in license properties, fashion brands and private labels for a wide range of kids and adult accessories.

Reporting to the Director of Design, they will work closely with product designers to properly size and create packaging for the items in gift sets and single item products. They will support the licensing coordinator to make sure all license designs are submitted to the licensors for approval. They will develop all molded tray shapes to hold the product in place, as well as the flat die-lines for the factory to print. Follow closely all the different properties branding guide requirements and legal info. Work on sales projects for retailer specific requests such as PDQs and sidekick displays.

Responsibilities:

-Design, develop and execute all company packaging, PDQs and visual merchandising design vision that best applies to the retailer in collaboration with internal leadership.

-Creation of 2D and 3D Packaging and visual merchandising design and art for multiple properties and product categories.

-Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams like design, sales and production.

-Work closely with factories following all production standards.

-Responsible for creating and reviewing all mechanical artwork.

-Submit all packaging designs for license approval and follow up on the approval status with the license coordinator to advise the factory once the design is approved.

-Stay up to date on packaging trends and be innovative with new packaging ideas.

-Render all packaging and create a packaging library that designers can pull from to design their product into.

-Review all packaging samples and approve lab dips.

Qualifications:

-2-4 years’ experience in a packaging position with an industrial design or graphic design degree.

-Talented illustrator with realistic rendering skills.

-Graphic artist with strong composition, layout and typography skills.

-Knowledge of print production including material and construction.

-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, 2D and 3D software and Microsoft Office.

-Prototyping and mockup skills.

-Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.

-Self-motivated, innovative and able to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

-Detailed-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
