Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionLocation: The Surgical Services' Patient Care Assistant will be hired to work at either the Saint Marys Hospital or Rochester Methodist Hospital Campus. Schedules will be discussed during the interview process.The Patient Care Assistant assists patient care unit staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, which support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.QualificationsMust be 18 years old.All applicants MUST attach:CV/Resume

Additional qualificationsCompletion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.License or certificationIf a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red CrossExemption statusNon-exemptCompensation DetailMinimum rate is $18.18 based upon union contract.Benefits eligibleYesScheduleFull TimeHours / Pay period40-56 hours every 2 weeksSchedule detailsVariable schedule including days/evenings/nights and either 8 or 12 hour shiftsWeekend scheduleMay be weekend and holiday expectations and/or no weekend depending on business needs.
