Citi is currently seeking a PBWM Head of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), supporting the Global Head of PBWM Business Risk and Control within the Personal Banking and Wealth Management (PBWM) organization. In this role, the candidate will have end-to-end responsibility and accountability to design, implement, drive and oversee effective execution of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) policies, standards, and related controls and processes across the PBWM Business, ensuring they are compliant with relevant regulations. This role is also responsible for supporting the definition, implementation, and overseeing execution of Third-Party Risk Management processes and associated Third Party control requirements across PBWM globally. TPRM focuses on organizational structure, processes, and tools to support the TPRM operating model.The PBWM Head of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) has an important role in assessing, managing and mitigating risks associated with PBWM’s use of third parties. Third-Party Risk Management encompasses external and internal (inter-affiliate) third parties and focuses on practices that are commensurate with the level of risk and complexity of the third-party engagements. The candidate must have extensive Third-Party Risk Management experience and have knowledge of regulatory requirements, including operational resilience, industry frameworks, and leading practices for Third Party Risk Management and Controls. The candidate must have strong communication skills and demonstrate a record of accomplishment and excellence in delivery.Responsibilities:Lead PBWM in strategic direction for Third-Party Risk Management framework and processes. This includes design, implementation, and effective execution of applicable policies, procedures, technology and tools, operating model, training, control and governance processes to create sustainable solutions.
Work closely with Enterprise Organization and PBWM Lines of Business to design and implement a program to evaluate the effectiveness of design and execution of controls to manage third party risks within PBWM.
Lead engagement across PBWM Businesses, and the second line to understand how these risks manifest themselves with Third Parties and ensure that these are appropriately addressed through Third-Party Risk Management Processes
Drive the root cause analysis of Third-Party Risk issues, events and near misses, and implement enhancements required to address root causes within PBWM.
Represent PBWM TPRM at Steering Committees and Working Groups to drive effective third party risk governance.
Assess regulatory changes impacting areas of Third-Party Risk and Control assessment to determine and implement any actions required.
Monitor industry leading practices for Third-Party risk management to identify enhancements to Citi’s broader TPRM Program.
Monitor and manage appropriate metrics to assess PBWM compliance with implemented frameworks, regulation and risk appetite.
Prepare updates for Citi stakeholders and regulators describing the PBWM TPRM Program’s approach to risk management and support the PBWM Head of Business Risk and Control with these communications
Qualifications & Skills:15+ years of relevant experience in Third-Party Risk Management experience, with knowledge of assessing third party risk and associated control requirements within a global financial services organization
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Third-Party Management and oversight
Evidence of delivery of results with strong execution skills
Ability to analyze processes and data to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with and influence senior management, lines of defense partners, and regulators
Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities through the effective use of time management and organizational techniques
Energetic and effective leader with a proven record for risk management innovation, design, and technology with proven success implementing large-scale initiatives.
Unquestionable integrity and objectivity, with ongoing commitment to excellence and the ability to operate in diverse environments and cultures
Education:Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree; managerial experience
