IntroductionIn your role as an integral team member, you will play a crucial part in the technical qualification of suppliers specializing in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for applications in storage, appliances, and server hardware.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a key member of the group, you will be responsible for the technical qualification of suppliers that manufacture printed circuit boards (PCBs) in the storage, appliance, and server hardware applications. You will be responsible for supplier new product qualifications, resolution of supplier quality issues, product life-cycle management, driving supplier quality and technology improvements, new product production ramps, technical support for supplier procurement negotiations, on-site supplier audits, and being the suppliers' technical interface to IBM. Additionally, you will ensure suppliers are efficiently executing required actions in a timely manner and will provide support/collaboration with other organizations to meet overall systems schedules.As a PCB technology reliability and quality engineer you will specifically establish product quality and reliability through the implementation and development of new PCB standards and specifications, strategically align with Development Teams as a key focal point on new programs and requirements for PCBs, guide teams on the selection, sourcing, and qualification of PCB suppliers, and lead efforts to understand PCB failures through root cause analysis and coordination of failure analysis with various organizations. With a global supply base, we offer our subject matter experts the ability to travel and interact directly with our entire supplier base to meet key qualification, production, and quality metrics.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

5 years or more in Print circuit board (PCB) manufacturing and quality control.

Failure analysis skill in Print circuit board manufacturing and field failed.

Statistic skill for product quality management.

Excellent communication skill with Print circuit board suppliers.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Working experience in PCB manufacturing. Experience in PCB product qualification and quality control. Failure analysis skill in manufacture line and product field failed. Certified six sigma black belt is preferred.

The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
