POD Description: The Architecture POD is responsible for designing and architecting solutions that are interoperable with an open architecture that will deliver a better integrated advisor experience that is technically complex and provides highly valued connectivity. Ensures the optimal use of existing technology standards, capabilities, and the development of new ones to increase business revenue and lower costs while reducing risk, increasing resiliency, and enabling more effective service delivery.

Principal Data Architect Responsibilities: Employing data management methods to achieve data architectural goals including

conceptual/logical/physical data modeling, DDL generation, data catalogs, data classification, data profiles, and data lineage. Interfaces with technology and specific business / functional areas for the development and management of the firm's data assets. Advises internal and external business and technology groups by providing strategic direction, guidance, and data domain expertise in addressing business issues and opportunities. Responsible for understanding available data architecture principles/guidelines and contributing to the best practices, standards, and frameworks supporting the firm's data strategy. Employing data management methods to achieve data architectural goals including conceptual/logical/physical data modeling, DDL generation, data catalogs, data classification, data profiles, data lineage and data interoperability. Responsible for gathering/deciphering business requirements into an architecturally sound data designs for transactional, analytical, and reporting data that taking into consideration volume, velocity, and quality of data.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of total experience in technology
  • Data domain expertise required
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Agile Development experience required, SDLC Tools, Gitlab, Maven, DevOps, CI/CD - Jenkins
  • Experience working in a startup preferred (FinTech startup product development ideal)
  • Ability to quickly learn and POC on new frameworks, environments, and technologies

Technical Skills required:
  • Data Platforms: Cloud Private/Public Vendors, Cloudera, Oracle, Exadata, SQL Server, DB2 z/os, Teradata, Snowflake, Big Data Hadoop/Hive/hBase, Postgres, Mongo, Graph databases Technical Design:
  • DDL, ANSI SQL, PL SQL, Python, Relational Data, Unstructured data, Star Schema, Data Warehouse, Data Mart, On-line Transactional, Data Interoperability techniques Tools: MS Office, Erwin Data Modeler, Toad, Gitlab
