(CM) is a derivatives trading company which was started in 1988 and is based in New York City, with offices in London and Hong Kong. SMBC CM is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange products such as interest & FX swaps, FRAs, options, exotic products, commodity derivatives as well as exchange traded products such as treasury bonds, interest rate futures & options, currency futures, treasury futures & options, etc.The Portfolio Analysis team within Trading Risk & Control group in Capital Markets is seeking a highly motivated candidate who wants to begin their career in an interest rate derivative trading floor. This Intern position is part of the trading group and coverage includes products in all major currencies which will provides unique opportunities to learn all aspects of trading interest rate derivatives. Given the small size of the trading group, you will be working on a wide-range of derivatives simultaneously, such as swaps, options, FX and credit products.Role Objectives

This is a challenging role in which a motivated candidate will be able to contribute from day 1.

Develops and maintains models and tools for daily curve marking, risk and PnL analysis, etc.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's/Master Degree in Finance / Economics / Math / Engineering, or a related area.

Strong understanding and knowledge in Python and VBA are required. A plus: Power BI

Strong knowledge of derivatives and their key risks, particularly interest rate and FX products.

Strong analytical skills; great attention to detail.

Strong project management skills; ability to work independently.

Expert communication and presentation skills.
