Job Title: Postgres Developer

Duration: Contract

Location: Newark, NY

Job Summary: We are looking for a candidate with hands on experience on

postgres development and performance tuning. Design, Implement & support new data engineering solutions, ability to understand requirements, take part in design discussions and deliver solutions end-to-end. As a member within the agile team you will understand the workflow and drive solutions as required.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Around 7 to 11 years of experience in handling multi-database development, migration project from Oracle to Postgres environment and must to have around 2 year of experience in Aroura Postgres AWS migration.
  • Strong in SQL and PL/pgSQL experience in a Postgres 9.x/10.x/11.x UNIX-based environment.
  • Broad and deep knowledge on PostgreSQL and Oracle databases development.
  • Hands on experience in AWS Cloud solutions.
  • Strong working experience on identifying bottlenecks and performance tuning on AWS aurora environment.
  • Design solutions to migrate data across different databases.
  • Suggest improvements to current processes, tools and implementation ideas.
  • Strong understanding of performance analysis, QUERY tuning and optimization
  • Must be willing to roll up sleeves to do the research necessary to define data and application requirements.
  • Must be familiar and stay current with industry best practices and trends related to data ingestion and database design/development.
  • Must be flexible and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and implement new Data technologies as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to support application/database development throughout the software lifecycle from requirements analysis and design through to implementation and maintenance.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in working with other database and application developers to define application architecture/best practices.
  • Proficiency coding in UNIX shell and SQL, and at least one procedural lang uage such as Python,
  • Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to details, proactive self-starter.
  • Understating of users, privileges, securities, backup and restore.
