Power BI Developer

A commercial real estate firm located in Manhattan is actively seeking an analytical and driven Power BI Developer to join their growing staff. In this role, the Power BI Developer will help build and improve a global BI platform built primarily on the Microsoft stack in Azure.

• Troubleshoot and fix data model issues
• Resolve other issues with existing Power BI reports, SQL views, and daily data refreshes
• Create and enhance Power BI dashboards and several tabular models as part of planned platform development projects and activities
• Support the technology components of new client onboarding to include such items as building and testing objects and measures in dashboards and tabular models, etc.
• Develop robust and scalable BI solutions
• Maintain delivery to deadlines

• Degree in IT or Mathematics Skills
• 2-4 years of solid Power BI development experience
• Experience working with Power BI in a recent role
• Excellent knowledge of the DAX and M programming languages, data model development, and report design and implementation experience
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing tabular models (Power BI or Azure Analysis Services)
• Ability to write T-SQL code to query databases
• Experience with precise requirements gathering and documentation
• Routine use of source control (example Git), as part of regular BI development activities
• Familiar with the use of DevOps to track progress on assigned tasks within a sprint
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with front-end development using languages such as JavaScript
• Tabular model development and deployment tools such as Tabular Editor, DAX Studio and ALM Toolkit
• Tabular model performance tuning, partitioning and optimization experience Report development experience with other software such as Tableau
• Experience programming with Python and/or R Qualifications

• Some experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory and/or SSIS
