About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled and reliable contractor to assist with ongoing renovation and maintenance work at a historic multi-unit property in the Albany area. This is our only rental property and we take pride in its appearance and upkeep but need help. The role is ideal for a tradesperson or independent contractor looking for steady supplemental work and a long-term relationship with a property owner who values quality craftsmanship, consistency, and clear communication.

This is not a single short-term renovation project — while the immediate focus will be light apartment updates and periodic building improvements, there will be continuing maintenance and small-scale renovation projects year-round.

Responsibilities

Complete light apartment renovations (flooring, painting, kitchen and bath updates).

Perform routine building maintenance (repairs, carpentry, small electrical/plumbing fixes)

Coordinate or oversee subcontractors for specialized work (roofing, masonry, HVAC, etc.)

Schedule and track project progress and material needs

Handle periodic property upkeep tasks (seasonal prep, inspections, small improvements)

Communicate project status and needs clearly and proactively

Qualifications

Experience in residential maintenance or renovation (multi-trade background preferred)

Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-directed — able to manage small projects independently

Basic knowledge of multiple trades (carpentry, light plumbing/electrical, painting, etc.)

Strong communication and time management skills

Must have reliable transportation, tools, and liability insurance

Must pass background checks

Compensation & Terms

$25–$35 per hour, based on experience and skill set

Flexible hours; can accommodate other ongoing projects or contract work

Consistent, year-round work opportunities — ideal for someone seeking stable part-time income

Payment via 1099 (independent contractor)

How to Apply

Please send a brief description of your background, examples of past renovation or maintenance work (photos or project summaries welcome), and references or contact info for past clients or employers.

We’re looking to build a long-term working relationship with a skilled, dependable person who takes pride in their work and wants consistent, flexible projects without full-time commitment.
