Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionMayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is seeking a therapist with a Master's degree in psychology or counseling to join the multi-disciplinary team of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center (MCCC), an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and member of the National Comprehensive Care Network. A successful applicant will receive on the job training in state-of-the-art, evidence-based treatment from supportive and closely integrated multidisciplinary teams consisting of psychologists, psychiatrists, and allied health clinicians. The applicant’s primary role will be providing psychological cancer care focusing on the psychological and behavioral factors affecting cancer outcomes, with the opportunity to develop a practice consisting of outpatient consultation, individual therapy, group interventions, and interdisciplinary team care. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to participate in research, digital innovation, and program development. Participates in research, when opportunities arise, with other members of the multidisciplinary team. Functions as a multidisciplinary team member, complies with required standards for medical/legal responsibilities, and serves as a resource to other allied health and administrative staff within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.QualificationsMaster's degree in psychology or counseling from an accredited college or university. Training and experience with evidence based assessment and treatment with cognitive behavior therapy background preferred. Strong background and experience in individual and group therapy. Excellent communication and human relation skills. Public speaking skills to conduct effective lectures, workshops, and in-service training programs. Intermediate personal computer skills to allow proficient use of commercial software, word processing, statistical, and database programs.
