A leading utility provider located in New York, NY is looking for a Python Engineer for a 12+ month contract.

This position is mostly on-site in Manhattan with some days remote (hybrid).

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test

Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 3+ years of experience with Python with 2+ years in data science and deep learning.
  • Experience with Python machine learning and deep learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, matplotlib, or TensorFlow/Keras.
  • Experience of machine learning as well as deep learning techniques and algorithms such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Random Forests, CNNs, LSTMs, etc.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and statistics are required.
  • Basic fluency in SQL or knowledge of relational databases and methods for efficiently retrieving data.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS suite of products and concepts of GIS.
  • Experience in handling geospatial datasets including satellite imagery, 3D point clouds/meshes, and other geospatial datasets.
  • Familiarity with OSI PI and its integration into learning models
  • Familiarity with Maximo and its integration into learning models

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking for an engineer responsible for providing technical guidance, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the steam risk model system and machine learning model.
  • The individual shall work closely with users from the operations, engineering, and information technology (IT) groups to facilitate solutions and enhancement of pilot steam system models.
  • The engineer shall help in the preparation and update of calculation, manuals, procedures, and specifications regarding the models. Knowledge of excel, python, and risk modeling of pipeline facilities is essential.
  • Manage integrations between SCADA system, OSI PI, Machine Learning modules.
  • Author and maintain geospatial data science samples using ArcGIS and machine learning/deep learning libraries.
  • Perform basic to advanced statistical data studies related to steam system information.
