Qc Lab Analyst

Job Description:Performs routine quality analyses on raw sugar, in-process and finished product samples involving the use of pH testing, chemical titrations, polarimetry, spectrophotometry and refractometryTracks schedule for incoming raw sugar and analyze all incoming raw sugar cargos upon arrivalActively contributes to Yonkers monthly sucrose loss meetings, support assigned Continuous Improvement initiatives and carry out any corrective or preventive actions relevant to roleEnters data into multiple databases and prepares Quality Data, Chemical Loss, Blackstrap, Non-taxable and Yonkers Technical Reports at the required frequenciesMaintains daily lab equipment calibrations or verification checks and monitors lab instrument performanceConducts instrument troubleshooting as appropriate and report poor instrument performance to lab supervisor, including sucrose loss monitoring equipmentConducts additional testing to support refinery troubleshooting efforts and to investigate consumer/customer complaintsPrepares additional reports for interested stakeholders and abides by the lab’s high customer service standards Provides back-up coverage for the microbiology and main lab where appropriate.Upholds standards for work area cleanliness and organizationMaintains required records and documentation Maintains the inventory of reagents, chemicals, and supplies needed for analyses within the analytical and main labsEnsure compliance to ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Management SystemPerforms other duties as may be assigned by managerSkills:Chemistry, Laboratory, Quality control, glp, Titration, isoTop Skills Details:Chemistry,Laboratory,Quality controlAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field 2 years’ experience in an analytical or laboratory environment Quality control experience preferredExperience requiring mathematical and scientific skill sets preferredExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
