A New York City government agency, located in Long Island City, is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst for a long term contract.

Candidates should be local and willing to work on site. This position will be on site in Long Island City, NY. Requirements and skills

Must have at least 4 years of experience in creating test plans and test cases for manual testing and automation
Ability to work independently within a rapidly changing environment with strict deadlines
Strong SQL skills, Oracle and SQL Server databases
Knowledge of .NET technologies
Strong analytical skills
Ability to multi-task
Proven communication and documentation skills
Excellent organizational, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Knowledge of all aspects of the software development life cycle, including secure SDLC
Bachelor's Degree in a technical, business or scientific discipline or equivalent work experience.
Experience creating UTP test frameworks is a plus

Responsibilities

Writing detailed test plans and test cases for functional testing.
Review and provide input on all project level documentation.
Create requirement/test case relationship (traceability).
Contribute to and assist in implementing improvements in test methods and strategies.
Extensive experience in Manual Testing and Automated Testing
Experience and knowledge in UAT, functional testing, system testing, unit testing, database testing, regression testing and integration testing will be a plus
Log, track, and validate resolution of identified defects.
Automation of test cases in Micro Focus UTP.
Escalate quality concerns to management
Qualified candidates must be prepared to make an immediate impact within the agency's QA team. The role will require writing and executing manual test cases for the first few months, and then moving to automation.
