OVERVIEW: Quality Carshell Manager - responsible to oversee the manufacturing processes and ensure full compliance of company and contract requirements. The successful candidate will be able to manage daily activities utilizing a team of direct reports, report progress and data, build and maintain strong customer relations, remove road blocks impeding progress, and improve profitability. Welding Coordinator - responsible for and oversees the welding special process to ensure it is being executed in accordance with company requirements. This includes creating new welding procedure specifications and associated procedure qualification records (WPS & PQR), supplier homologation & auditing, administering testing and maintaining the list of qualified welders, assist in developing repair procedures, etc. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
Manage a team (primarily inspectors) to complete daily activities such as welding and dimensional inspections, documentation review, create NCRs, and station move meetings.
Ability to travel to suppliers and conduct audits needed for homologation, periodic oversight, and problem resolution.
Welding Process Qualification: Participate in the development, implementation, and maintain a comprehensive welding process qualification program in compliance with industry standards and regulations. This includes establishing welding procedures, conducting welder qualification tests, and maintaining documentation.
Welder Qualification: Oversee the qualification of welders to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications. Conduct periodic evaluations and requalification tests as required.
Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control procedures to monitor and evaluate welding processes, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and standards. Conduct inspections, audits, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Process Improvement: Continuously improve welding processes by analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to optimize weld quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on proper techniques, safety procedures, and quality requirements. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the welding area.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications related to welding. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including welding procedures, welder qualifications, inspection reports, and quality records.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality requirements for welding materials, consumables, and equipment. Conduct audits and assessments to evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve welding-related issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints. Utilize root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
