Job Title: Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)Reports to: Nurse Manager/Director of Pediatric ServicesEmployment Type: Full-TimeJob Overview:The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a pediatric healthcare setting. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for pediatric patients, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and education to patients and their families.Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs. Use clinical judgment to identify changes in health status and respond appropriately.

Care Planning: Develop individualized nursing care plans based on assessments, incorporating input from healthcare team members, patients, and families.

Implementation of Care: Deliver direct nursing care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and providing interventions consistent with best practice standards.

Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments. Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and modify care plans as necessary.

Patient and Family Education: Provide age-appropriate education to patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.

Collaboration: Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate holistic patient care.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough nursing documentation in electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters and care provided.

Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements in nursing practice.

Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in pediatric nursing and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.

Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in (State) is required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and any relevant pediatric certifications are preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in pediatric nursing preferred. New graduates with a strong clinical experience may be considered.

Skills: Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, compassion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

The job may involve direct patient care in various pediatric settings, such as inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, or emergency departments.

Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting, and moving patients, as well as responding quickly to emergencies.
