Experience in the coordination, collection, management, linkage, and analysis of newborn or pediatric data. Strong working knowledge of Excel, Tableau and/or other database management software. Experience preparing data for the scientific community and the public. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Duties Description The Research Scientist 2 will be responsible for all longitudinal case management, evaluation, tracking, resolution, and data analysis for improving laboratory algorithms for more than 40 inherited metabolic disorders on the newborn screen panel. The Research Scientist 2 will also be responsible for researching and developing new algorithms, and analyzing data sets to optimize specificity and sensitivity of the laboratory tests. In addition, this position will work with NYSDOH-certified Specialty Care Center specialists to research and develop educational materials for parents and primary health-care providers. Additional Comments Permanent, non-competitive, fulltime. Since exposure to potentially hazardous substances may be involved with this position, the selected candidate will be required to wear personal protective clothing and equipment. Work hours may be variable.
