Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionThe registered nurse is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and discharge planning. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN will function in the role of primary nurse, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned primary patients from admission through discharge. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, charge nurse assignment, and committee work. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Care and Professional Performance provide a basis for practice. RNs are required to have specialized knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of research protocols in a variety of specialties. Understands and advocates for human subject rights.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.Additional qualificationsWorks flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. Collects, compares, sorts, and prioritizes information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of patients and employees. Adapts to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Good communication and interpersonal skills.License or certificationCurrent Minnesota RN license, current license deemed acceptable by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing.Exemption statusNon-exemptCompensation DetailEducation, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
