Job Title: Ruby on Rails Developer

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: 06 Months (35 hour work week)

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills

will not be considered. Minimum of 4 years’ experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, datastructures, data manipulation, databases, programming, testing and implementation, technical and userdocumentation, software conversions; environments include but are not limited to mainframe, midrange,personal computers, laptop; available to assist and/or lead in the design of programspecifications and the implementation of software solutions.

  • Preferred Skills/Experience for Consultant Candidates:
    • BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred.• 3-6 years of total experience in object oriented design, development, testing and deployment of•mission critical business applications, and on web/client-server environments. 3+ years of hands-on development experience with projects involving the full stack of Ruby on•Rails 4.x with other Open Source technologies such as Ruby 2.x, RVM, HTML5, CSS3,JavaScript, LeafletJS, jQuery 1.x/2.x, DataTables, Bootstrap 3, AngularJS, BackboneJS, PHP,MySQL 5.6, PostgreSQL 9.x, Apache, Tomcat, Linux, Ubuntu 12, Redis and Memcache. Experience in business intelligence metrics and reports using Jasper, Pentaho or BIRT.• Experience in build and integration with RESTful or SOAP-based APIs.• Experience with configuration management, continuous integration, version control, testing and•document management with Open Source tools such as GIT/GITHUB, RSpec, Silk Test,PivotalTracker and Jira. Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.• Experience in all phases of SDLC and standard SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, RUP,•Agile/SCRUM to deliver client solutions. Experience in UML/Rational tools or other design tools.• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills.• Good c•ommunication, presentation and leadership skills.
