A leading utility provider located in New York, NY is looking for a Security Analyst for a 12+ month contract.

Some onsite work is required throughout the life of the contract, and is likely to increase over time. Local candidates only

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test

Requirements and skills

  • Familiarity with vulnerability management workflows
  • Previous vulnerability management experience
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management industry standards such as CVE, CVSS scoring
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity scanning tools
  • Awareness of patch lifecycle for major vendors
  • Strong deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority vulnerabilities and workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong organization skills

Preferred Skills

  • Utility experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working in Jira, ServiceNow
  • Familiarity with Splunk, Phantom
  • Experience with vulnerability management across cloud environments
  • Experience with asset management
  • Understanding of public IP space and perimeters
  • Information Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, etc

Responsibilities

  • Review and process vulnerability scan results
  • Analyze vulnerability intelligence and use cybersecurity scanning tools to assess impact to the company
  • Identify assets associated with vulnerabilities
  • Assess risk presented by identified vulnerabilities
  • Create tickets to document and track vulnerabilities
  • Create tickets to assign work to stakeholders
  • Define remediation activity and work with stakeholders remediate
  • Identify opportunities and tools/processes to mitigate the risk presented by vulnerabilities
  • Identify opportunities and implement enhancements to vulnerability management workflows
