Population Health has been part of the fabric at Montefiore since the 1990's- long before Population Health was recognized as critical by our peer hospital systems. We are seeking a Sr. Application Analyst to work within the EPIC Population Health Quality Measures team. The Sr. Application Analyst will primarily be involved in implementations and on-going support of Healthy Planet and Regulatory reporting. The Sr. Application Analyst will be involved in the development and/or configuration of a wide range of population health functions including, but not limited to, clinical quality measures, HCC processes and reporting and support for various external data interfaces (payor claims, dispensed prescriptions, care everywhere).

Responsibilities: • Analysis/Problem Solving - Analyze complex business problems and provide creative solutions to determine appropriate functionality that meets requirements with minimal oversight (solutions may require integration with other teams); Determine appropriate tools to deliver required solution; Conduct data analysis and troubleshooting; Work independently to provide technical expertise in identifying, and evaluating modules and procedures that meet user requirements; Determine, communicate and escalate issues/risks; • Build - Define an overall build design leveraging Epic strategies when possible to implement the solution, while seeking to improve efficiency; Design and develop components for the delivery of quality measures, dashboards, scorecards, Radar and reporting workbench. Support existing build using ad hoc queries, extracts and analytics. All build will meet defined standards for naming, change control, documentation, approvals etc.• Exceed Client expectations - Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to assess business needs, provide relevant solutions, and communicate information timely and effectively. • Testing/Validation - Determine testing/validation methodology and create test scripts for unit and integrated testing; Coordinate user acceptance validation to ensure timely sign off; Execute functional, regression, load testing etc. as needed.• Documentation - Prepare detailed requirement specification documents, Epic meta data, process flows, and other required documents; Ensure stakeholder involvement/approval when possible; Create training materials in conjunction with Instructional Designers and/or participate in training

• Technical Knowledge - Proactively monitor the application(s) and tools to ensure our solutions are in line with current recommendations.

• Business Knowledge - Proactively monitor quality program changes and ensure our measures are reflective of the industry's current definitions.

• Team Support - Provides assistance to Application Analysts and other team members as necessary. Encourage, assist, and mentor development of co-workers' skills and proficiencies.

• Vendor oversight - Oversees implementation of Healthy Planet Quality third party vendor solutions along with post implementation maintenance.
  • On call support required on a rotating basis and implementations as needed.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be certified in at least one Epic modules for Healthy Planet, ClinDoc, Orders, Ambulatory or Cogito.
  • Minimum of 5 years' build experience in Epic EMR
  • Minimum of 3 years' build experience working in Reporting Workbench, Dashboards and Metrics.
  • Extensive knowledge on the interdependencies of reporting, analytics, and working with external data sources.
  • Strong experience in documenting workflows, technical specifications, business specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with customers, vendors, peers and management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work well on team
  • Excellent follow up skills, documentation skills and organizational skills
  • Must be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities
  • Meeting all requirements for Epic certification is a condition of employment.
  • On call support required on a rotating basis and implementations as needed.

Desired:
  • Epic certification in Healthy Planet Analytics and Quality Measures
  • Experience working with Epic external data for quality measures.
  • Experience building quality measures for various governmental organizations.
  • Epic Radar and Reporting Workbench SQL experience a plus.
  • knowledge of clinical workflows
  • Experience with regulatory, quality, compliance, governmental, specialized registries, promoting interoperability, eCQMs and/or incentive programs
