Position: Senior Business Analyst

Duration: Full-time

Location: New York, NYWe are seeking for a Senior Business Consultant to collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their specific requirements. The focus of this position is to work closely with the clients to get an understanding of their business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the business operates. The position would also help with new opportunities with regards to understanding the business requirements and creating functional response for proposals.

Job Description :

Understanding and analyzing client’s business needs and designing software solutions to address those needs.
Conducting stakeholder interviews, user interviews, focus group studies and workshops to elicit end-user requirements.
Analyzing and improving current business processes to design automated workflows.
Documenting system requirements specification to enable project implementation by the software development team.
Facilitating communication and resolution of issues between the client and the project team.
Managing day to day communication with the team and client stakeholders and acting as a primary point of contact for the client for areas assigned to the person.

Responsibilities:

Interact with project sponsors, business owners and end users in the client organization to understand business and project objectives. Conduct stakeholder and end user interviews, workshops, and surveys for identifying business needs
Understand the overall business dynamics, strategic objectives, IT landscape and organization culture of the client organization and identify the system's fit in the ecosystem
Plan, estimate, define scope of the business analysis phase and take complete ownership of the Requirement and Design phases until completion.
Identify, assess, and document business requirements, factor business priorities, and advise business on options, risks, and costs
Conduct a feasibility analysis of possible solutions in consultation with technical architects and perform impact analysis of the proposed solution
Conduct requirement walkthroughs, gather feedback, resolve conflicts, build consensus and refine the solution based on the gathered inputs
Develop requirement specifications in the format determined by the chosen project methodology and engagement scope which could include business requirements document, Design documents, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, process models, workflow diagrams, UAT plan etc.
Create prototypes in form of sketches and wireframes using basic usability principles
Work with cross-functional team of usability/user experience analysts and visual designers to design effective and compelling user-experience
Work with quality assurance team to ensure that requirements documentation can be easily translated into suitable test cases and plans leading to full test coverage of the system
Support the development and quality teams in understanding and assimilating the requirements
Assist with High Level Design Documents and help the team with functional understanding.
Scoping and defining new business opportunities
Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive)
Engage in pre-sales activities like create functional response to RFPs, bid defense, conduct demos

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years of experience working in full lifecycle IT Projects with 7+ years of Business Analysis/Solution Consultant experience
Must have experience working on mid to large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
Proficient with Microsoft Word, PPT, Excel, Visio
Proficient with prototyping and wireframing tools such as Sketch, Invision
Team Player, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Good to Have:

Prior experience of working with Public Sector/Government
