Develop sources of supply and obtaining quotes for MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) related materials / supplies / spare parts and components for plant manufacturing equipment, etc
Lead sourcing activities for assigned commodities through data gathering, identifying suppliers, quote preparation, supplier qualification, and gap analysis to make right decisions for suppliers' selection and sourcing needs
Lead category strategies for multiple purchase areas and/or of significant total spend budget
Issue RFP / RFQ ( requests for pricing and quotes ) and negotiating pricing / bulk discounts, finding the lowest-cost materials and supplies within quality standards with approved vendors to achieve targeted cost reductions
Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements for services, subcontracting and goods / materials ( contract life cycle management )
Manage supplier selection, supplier relationships and performance reviews
Work to reduce the cost of maintaining existing plant industrial manufacturing equipment
Prepare and issue of purchase orders
Support vendor managed inventory
Secure overall continuity of supply and risk mitigation
Work with plants and warehouses to resolve quality, delivery, capacity, and other issues
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in such disciplines as : SCM ( supply chain management ), Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Operation Management or other relevant field of study including engineering disciplines
Previous experience as a buyer ( ideally working for a manufacturing company or related to industrial / engineering operations )
Experience with category strategies, strategic sourcing, cost optimization, supplier management, spend analysis, contract negotiation skills, vendor management, procurement, purchasing, etc
MRO experience will be a plus
Ideally some supervisory / managerial experience
SAP / Ariba experience will be a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service and negotiation skills
