Position: Senior Director DeFiWe are seeking applicants for the role of Senior Director - DeFi to be based in the New York office of S&P Global Ratings.The Team:The DeFi team has responsibility for developing a comprehensive business and strategic approach to Decentralized Finance, Blockchain, Web 3.0, and the Metaverse across S&P Global. The team collaborates extensively with both internal and external stakeholders, enabling the development of product and client strategies that emanate from the emergence of decentralized finance capabilities. Additionally, the team plays a critical role in identifying and navigating future potential disruption risks as well as identifying and facilitating new investment and partnership opportunities for S&P Global in the dynamic and fast-growing DeFi ecosystem.The Impact and what’s in it for you:

This is a critical role to enable the successful build-out and execution of a DeFi product strategy at S&P Global

Reporting directly to the Head of DeFi Transformation, you will help develop and implement product strategies within Ratings and other SPGI business divisions

Be a critical team member in enabling transformational thinking and strategic execution at S&P Global in decentralized markets

Be a foundational member in building the S&P franchise and market placement in crypto finance and decentralized markets

Key Responsibilities

Leads and organizes the development of DeFi and crypto Finance related products across S&P Global Commodities Insights, S&P Global Dow Jones Indices, S&P Global Market Intelligence, S&P Ratings, Sustainable 1,and S&P Transportation.

Utilizing an extensive product experience at S&P Global with a deep understanding of crypto/DeFi markets, you contribute to the analysis of market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform product development decisions in close coordination and collaboration with industry-specific product managers

Serves are the central link between all divisions to guarantee consistency and compatibility between all the products developed across the divisions.

Coordinate with the executives from all divisions on the product strategy to follow related to DeFi, Digital Assets, and Crypto Finance.

Develop and maintain relationships with key DeFi partners and industry players

Define the short-term and long-term product strategy and roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and ensure the timely execution and delivery of DeFi product integration into existing business lines

Educate S&P business lines on the overall DeFi strategy of S&P and of the DeFi/crypto demands of our clients

Provide crypto finance expertise in product development workflows across SPGI divisions, Contribute to the analysis and presentation of strategic investment opportunities consistent with S&P’s DeFi roadmap

Define and track product KPIs to measure product success and optimize for growth

Effectively communicate DeFi product strategy to internal and external stakeholders from C-suite to entry-level.

Ensure that our DeFi products comply with relevant regulations and industry standards

Credibly champion S&P DeFi capabilities internally and externally to maintain and expand market relevance, presence, and brand.

Supervise and manage any direct reports, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation

Maintains the business plan for multiple products or services across businesses. Manages the resources for marketing campaigns to ensure successful product or service launches across the business. Manages marketing campaign by providing guidance to team resources around timelines and key accomplishments for various products.

Manages the resources responsible for planning and conducting a new product launch. Conducts due diligence on opportunities or partners. Positions the product/platform for all markets and all buyer types. Participates in projects and monitors a product development plan. Keeps own team and other teams informed about deadlines/obstacles/changes as part of the product development cycle.

Sets direction for developing value propositions for a group of products/suite. Develops market inquiry/outreach plans and interprets results of product/platform opportunities. Manages the product development process for select areas to identify growth opportunities and develop a robust pipeline for long-term growth. Meets with key stakeholders or clients to identify those opportunities globally.

Directs and coordinates the market development process by identifying, analyzing, and recommending new business opportunities. Leads project teams focused on developing key growth areas (e.g., international expansion or acquisitions).

Oversees the management of relationships with key customers to ensure S&P Global has the ability to identify new products and improve existing products/platforms.

Creates and maintain the business plan including pricing. Researches and analyzes strategically relevant markets and clients to make recommendations on new business opportunities.

Has in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape as well as a deep understanding of S&P Global businesses and products. Knows and is able to anticipate clients’ needs in a way that builds product capabilities and opportunities to gain a competitive advantage

Identifies and resolves complex problems in business and product development to improve revenue generation and business growth. Solves problems using in-depth industry expertise.

Works regularly with regional business leads, internal partners as well as C-Suite executives in other organizations to develop new product ideas and/or support the S&P Global products.

Has significant impact on the business's ability to implement products, platforms, and programs that drive revenue results.

Oversees/directs operations of the team, performing work and providing insight when needed.

Collaborates with and advises other leads internally and externally to ensure goals and expectations are met.

Provides expertise and insight on complex, non-routine problems/tasks.

Manages complex programs and one or more projects within a program. Centralizes and improves processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with organization strategies.

Leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, and troubleshooting.

Understands how work of project teams impacts relevant teams or departments.

Applies depth and breadth of knowledge of S&P Global businesses and expertise gained through experience. Holds business-specific knowledge to develop business strategies.

Remains current on research and trends.

Solves complex, non-routine problems encountered in multiple projects/programs using new solutions and market trends.

Ability to deduce solutions with multiple sources of input and understand costs/benefits of each solution.

Collaborates with other team leads in the Program and Project Management area and across business units.

Works with internal customers.

Contributes to the objectives of the Program/Project Management group and the objectives of functional or business areas supported.

Oversees and directs business unit and organizational projects and programs.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

15 + years experience in business, with 5+ years in business development, and 2+ years of practical experience on chain and crypto markets in

Extensive understanding of S&P Global businesses and products, and a strong understanding of DeFi protocols, blockchain technology, and crypto finance markets

Hands-on experience with crypto and DeFi products and protocols

Effective leader and communicator, able to motivate a team and influence internal and external stakeholders

An independent, proactive, and globally minded corporate entrepreneur able to strategically help develop and execute a strategy

An innovative and creative approach that can work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

An enthusiastic self-learner, staying up to date with the fast-moving developments in the constantly evolving DeFi world.

Proven experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception to launch.
