Senior Java Developer

Our client, a prestigious asset management and emerging markets firm, is looking to hire an extremely talented full-time senior level Java Developer/Engineer. This is a hybrid plan of 2x/week onsite (Midtown Manhattan), 3x/week remote.This is a highly visible role as you will report directly into (and learn from) the CTO. You will have the ability to wear multiple hats and essentially be a big fish in a small pond.While this is an individual contributor role acting in a fully hands-on capacity, you will also be looked upon to oversee 1 or 2 more junior resources.

• Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in developing multi-tier, multithreaded, multi-user, distributed application services using core Java and related technologies such as JDBC, JMS, JSP, JAXB, JMX, REST, SOAP
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design patterns
• Strong understanding of Data Structures
• Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in using SQL and databases (Microsoft T-SQL required!)
• Understanding of the Normal Forms of the Relational Model
• Query Optimization
• Data Integrity Constraints
• Ability and willingness to get involved across many functions (business analysis, application support, testing, deployment, prototyping, documentation, etc.)
• EXCEL VBA

• Statistics
• Windows system administration skills
• Object Request Broker Technologies (RMI, CORBA Zeroc/ICE, etc.)
• Groovy, JavaScript, Python, VBA, CFML
• Basic Domain knowledge of financial instruments (Fixed Income, FX, Equities)
• Object Relational Mapping (HYBERNATE)
• Swing UI
• Knowledge of Fixed Income, Equities, Credit, Currency and/or Derivatives instruments is a plus
