Partner with manager and internal/external partners to translate ideas into concepts and concepts into products/fragrances. Collaborate and establish strong business relationships with functional and cross functional partners as well as external partners. Apply findings of product and fragrance development fundamentals. Support trend analysis and understand the customer to stay relevant.ResponsibilitiesProduct & Fragrance Development
Responsible for the product and fragrance development of assigned category / projects.
Responsible for end-to end development, working with cross functional partners and external partners – responsible to deliver against development breakthrough and handoffs.
Track base and fragrance submissions.
Work with Leadership to interpret brief and identify vendors for new development.
Drive on-site development when possible (i.e. contract fillers, fragrance houses) with management support, as needed.
Obtain submissions from Suppliers. Evaluate, redirect, follow up and gain approvals
Partner with R&D on the overall performance and aesthetics, as needed
Evaluate and collaborate with Package Development ensure formula, fragrance and packaging to deliver optimal performance.
Troubleshoot in response to overall development issues with Manager and cross-functional teams; identify possible solutions.
Responsible for maintenance and updates of status sheets / trackers for assigned programs
Support panel testing of products/fragrances and provide initial analysis and recommendations.
Provide sampling support for large scale external consumer testing; begin to participate in result analysis
Category & Market Expertise (Including: Internal, External, Libraries, Other)
Support tracking of driven launch activity
Obtain a thorough and in-depth understanding of company offerings in store
Build awareness to brand relevant and driven product and store environments
Support the libraries within product and fragrance development as needed
Data Management/Reporting
Responsible for own brief workflow.
Analyze information from timelines, achievements and status sheets, solving issues and elevating them as needed
Responsible for feasibility and accuracy of all timelines
Responsible for breakthrough work flow documentation
Cross Functional Support/Relationship Building
Build cross functional relationships with internal peers both across Bath and Body Works
Build professional relationships with relevant external vendors
Talent Management/Development
May supervise team of 1 – 2 associates – provide PFD skills training, coaching and feedback, development and recognition of associates.
Creation and execution of Performance Review and Career Management Profile for self and associates (if applicable)
May participate in interviewing process
Train cross functional partners when possible
Identify continuous learning opportunities for own development (ie. Learning Manager, attend other meetings to gain insights, job shadowing)
Participate and support Enterprise initiatives
Attend trainings and continue to build skills.
Provides input to manager on talent conversations for associates
