A leading utility provider located in New York, NY is looking for a Sr. SQL Server / ETL Developer for a 12+ month contract.

Some onsite work is required throughout the life of the contract, and is likely to increase over time. Local candidates only.

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test

Job Description:

  • Must be able to understand complex business logic and design ETL processes in support of both internal and client-facing systems
  • Converts business requirements into working code as well as to analyze complex code and translate the business logic.
  • Develops T-SQL scripts to manage and move data in order to meet business requirements
  • Performs the required data transformations
  • Analyzes data patterns and usage, and provide recommendations on database design/tuning to ensure optimal performance
  • Utilizes SQL Server Integration Services to execute the necessary ETL workflow
  • Designs and performs tests on all code, data flows and package logic
  • Develops highly complex code for data movement, data transformation, data quality, data cleansing, and other ETL-related activities
  • Adheres to all data security and integrity policies
  • Creates and/or updates technical design documents including architecture and process diagrams
  • Communicates and collaborates with varied stakeholders (product owners, UX designers, project managers) and other development team members
  • Must be able to pivot with changing and demanding priorities.

    Skills & Requirements Mandatory: SQL 7 years + SSIS 4 years + ETL 5 years
  • 7+ years of Data Exchange/Load, Data Warehouse and TSQL development (scripting, stored procedures, triggers, query development)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012+
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of T-SQL
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and documentation patterns
  • Working knowledge of ETL techniques, tools, and processes The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate.
  • Ability to connect to other database instances, like Oracle databases
