Doran Jones is hiring a Python Engineer who will focus initially on a data platform project in the global investment space. We are in a period of exciting growth and expansion across multiple domains! Our ideal candidate is a very strong communicator, able to multi-task, and excels in a fast-paced trading environment. The candidate will be comfortable leading projects from start to finish, communicating with stakeholders, and developing quick and sound solutions to complex problems.Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with a global team, including talented market data developers, senior analysts, and researchers, to build and improve key systems and automate data processing
Develop a keen understanding of the data and how it is being utilized in our systems and investment processes
Develop services and integrate them with both internal and external APIs
Be an active participant and have a voice in brainstorming technical design, code reviews, and general interaction
Troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner
Partner with our business users to understand their requirements and interactions with the data platform to ensure quality product delivery and smooth day-to-day operation

Required Experience

5+ years of professional software development experience in Python
3+ years developing containerized applications
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
Experience developing cloud-based databases (AWS preferred)
Strong communication skills
Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Experience

Financial Services Experience - Capital Markets
Experience with Kubernetes
Hands-on experience working with container technologies (Docker, Podman)
Understanding Databricks as a platform
