Software Engineer III Fulltime only NY/Remote (EST) Job Description: Current initiatives we have are: Designing the next generation of our core engine, (Database design, Transaction support, Performance/Scalability and more); Develop our Mobile platform; Evaluate our UI Architecture/Frameworks. Responsibilities Design and implement high quality, efficient and maintainable software Take ownership of components of our product suite Commit to highest quality standards by delivering comprehensive unit tests along with production code Contribute to overall engineering team efforts on cohesive architecture and design Monitor support tickets created by customers; characterize the incidents, reproduce, diagnosis and analyse the root cause Be a self starter in learning new technologies and mentoring other junior team members. Qualifications Fundamental understanding of how to design and program in the object-oriented paradigm making proper use of encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism and common design patterns such as MVC, factory, singleton and facade. Java, JavaScript, React, Angular, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST, JMS, MDB, Servlet, JSP, JUNIT, JAXB, MicroServices, SOA, Eclipse IDE, tomcat, Oracle , MySQL. Familiar with any RDBMS database including ability to write queries involving multiple tables. Working knowledge of Unix operating system and cloud environments. Familiar with GIT, maven, bamboo. Analytical thinking and strong problem solving ability. Desired Skills & Experience 6 to 12 years of Application Development work experience using server side Java/J2EE with solid application design, coding, testing, maintenance and debugging skills (JSP/Servlets, Hibernate, Spring, JDBC, JMS, etc.). Must have experience in supporting a 247 application. Experience with Hospitality Industry preferred. Object Oriented Design and programming knowledge. Experience in developing database-driven software. Experience with Agile Development. Experience with Test Driven Development. Understanding of common concepts such as caching, transaction management, profiling.
