Software QA Engineer-Python ETL Hybrid-PD

Our direct client is seeking a software Quality Assurance Engineer for a fulltime direct hire engagement. This is a hybrid position which requires working onsite in NYC 3 days per week, remote for 2 days. The annual salary for this position is between $125,000 and $135,000.

• 8+ years of IT development or SDET experience
• 6+ years of ETL Processes/ Data Warehouse experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in ORACLE database technologies. Experience in writing complex ORACLE SQL and PL/SQL scripts for querying data.
• Experience with ETL Processes (Data Warehouse) and BI tools (Qlikview,Cognos etc.,). Proficient enough to Analyze Source Systems, Staging area, Fact and Dimension tables in Target D/W
• Hands-on experience with No-SQL DB, preferably MongoDB.
• Experience creating reusable code/scripts for Automated Framework using Python (Pandas, Numpy, Requests, Boto3)
• Experience working with Postman, SOAPUI, GraphQL or similar API testing tools
• Strong hands-on experience in APIs, webservices and Microservices.
• Experience working with Kafka data streams, Big data, Postgres DB and Datalake is a plus
• Experience working with Amazon AWS services like Athena, S3 , Glue, Starburst etc., is a plus
• Proficient in defect tracking/Quality assurance tools such as ALM and JIRA. qTest is a plus.
• Basic understanding of Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery/Deployment concepts and CI tools like Jenkins/Bamboo, etc.
• Competent technical skills and good time management skills.
• Ability to work in a team and individually.
• Experience with processes and deliverables in an Agile/SCRUM environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to varying audiences
• Financial domain experience is a plus

• Review requirements and specifications, and define test conditions. Participate in the overall testing strategy of the product.
• Design test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria, recording and reporting outcomes
• Provide estimates associated with the tasks.
• Work closely with the development and business team to get all the details of the workflows defined and the APIs present to build the automated scripts accordingly.
• Develop regression suite using Python automation framework and Complete regression and integration testing as necessary.
• Participate in CI/CD delivery models, create execution pipelines, etc.
• Analyze test results and log defects in JIRA. Partner with project team members on the resolution and re-testing of the identified issues and defects.
• Analyze and report test activities and results. Document, maintain, track and report test status using tools such as ALM/JIRA/qTest
