Software Quality Engineer (Remote)

A recognized entertainment organization in New York City has a great Remote opportunity awaiting a new Software Quality Engineer. In this role, the Software Quality Engineer (Remote) will be responsible for building test cases from user stories and requirements, execute tests. and communicate results to ensure successful product releases.

• Perform hands-on testing, programming and debugging
• Conduct testing one or more projects, determining the appropriate automation approach
• Develop tests that meet functional and performance requirements and satisfy user acceptance criteria
• Work with the Scrum team to drive Test Driven Development where modules that are being worked on are tested right away for immediate feedback
• Perform peer reviews of tests or scripts that other team members build
• Confirm user stories and requirements are met
• Ensure defects are quickly and clearly communicated
• Track progress and provide daily and/or weekly status reports
• Anticipate and raise potential issues that impact quality or delivery
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues to determine if a potential defect exists
• Perform other duties, as needed

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
• Java Programming experience
• Experience with the automated testing of front end, microservices, and/or serverless applications
• Experience developing test automation scripts (Java, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and/or REST Assured)
• Experience testing REST APIs
• Experience testing relational databases and writing SQL
• Experience with issue and test management tools, such as Jira, QMetry, TestRail
• Experience working with version control
• Experience integrating tests into a CI/CD pipeline
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

• Experience within a Media company
• Experience working with both remote onshore and offshore team members
• Hands-on experience with API mocking, such as WireMock
• Hands-on Performance and Load testing experience using Jmeter, or others such as Gatling and Scala
• Experience creating workflow diagrams and documenting testing plans and strategies
