IMG is seeking a full-time

Software Tester with Secret clearance at our Schenectady, NY location.

Responsibilities

Software Testers will be assigned to the Shipboard Information Technology (SBIT) Application Support unit, which supports test efforts for both commercial off the shelf (COTS) and custom developed software. SBIT develops and tests applications that are installed onboard Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. These software applications include: desktop applications, web applications, and real-time applications. The software tester will be responsible for testing custom applications that are developed in-house and through outside vendors to ensure high quality software is delivered to the Navy.
  • Interface with personnel to provide application testing services, including:
    • Translating agile business stories into written test cases (plans) or automation tests establishing full traceability
    • Converting current manual test cases into automated test cases
    • Troubleshooting defects to determine root cause
    • Documenting test defects in detailed test reports
    • Report progress against plans and assigned work
  • Adhere to Buyer software development processes and methodology
  • Other tasks as assigned to directly support software testing
  • Train other personnel in test case/plan automation and industry standard best practices utilizing Dev/Ops

Qualifications

Clearance Required: Must hold an active Secret or DOE L clearance

Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Information Technology and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Information Technology and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle, as it relates to testing software
  • Experience with Dev/Ops environments and Continuous Integration strategies
  • Experience in creating and executing detailed test plans for new and updated applications
  • Experience in using automation tools (such as UFT) to automate routine test plans
  • Capability to identify and document test defects encountered while testing
  • Ability to troubleshoot defects to determine root cause
  • Experience in creating detailed test reports
  • Strong IT troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate technical solutions and concepts through verbal and written communication in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work on projects in a team environment, as well as individually
