Job Title: Spark Scala Engineer with Java

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Job Description:5+ years’ experience in the following areas:
  • Experience in development using Hadoop/Spark.
  • Experience developing back end components in Java including real time report generation, batch processing and integration with downstream systems
  • Good Core Java knowledge
  • A track record of building scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Previous experience delivering high volume reporting applications

Mandatory Skills:
  • Spark
  • Hadoop/ Big Data technologies
  • Continuous Integration (ideally TeamCity)
  • Experience working in an Agile based team – ideally Scrum
  • Java

Desirable skills:
  • Oracle and PL/SQL
  • Scala / Akka / Reactive patterns
  • Test Driven Development
  • HTML 5 / CSS 3
  • Javascript and Javascript based UI libraries including Angular.js
  • Team management
