Sr. Accountant

Description Robert Half is partnering with a technology company based in New York City that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to the team and play a crucial role in managing our revenue accounting processes.Position Overview:We are looking for a Senior Accountant with 5 plus years of experience, preferably within the technology sector, particularly in SaaS or similar subscription-based models. Alternatively, we are open to candidates with a strong background in public accounting, particularly those with experience working with technology clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of revenue recognition principles and a proven track record of ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Recognition: Lead the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles and company policies.

Financial Analysis: Analyze revenue streams and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Month-End Close: Manage month-end close processes related to revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and Product Management to ensure alignment on revenue recognition policies and practices.

Audit Support: Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation and support related to revenue accounting.

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance revenue accounting processes to drive efficiency and scalability.

Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of revenue accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA certification a plus

5 plus years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition.

Experience working in the technology sector, preferably within a SaaS or subscription-based business model.

Strong understanding of GAAP principles and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
