We are trying to

source Sr. IT Helpdesk Engineer for our direct client at Downtown Manhattan, NY. We need a Senior IT Helpdesk Engineer with strong background in Network & System Administration, VMWare, Virtualization and setting up of software and Hardware.

It will be a Long-Term onsite project at Manhattan, NY.

Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration experience required.
  • 7-8 years of network administration or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working or basic knowledge of virtualization, VMWare/Hyper-V or equivalent are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing Helpdesk and IT operations best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. This includes deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2012/2019, Windows 10 and 11.
  • Strong understanding of Office apps. This includes MS Office, SharePoint, Office 365 configuration and advance troubleshooting skills.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Lead desktop and Helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems. This includes WLAN configuration, troubleshooting and deployment across LAN and multiple AD forests.
