A government agency located in New York, NY is looking for a Sr. Program Manager for a 12 month contract. The role will begin onsite in Long Island City (Queens) and following that will take on a hybrid model with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, on average, each week. Major Project Goals and ObjectivesThe Project Manager will assist with the management and the implementation of a series of actionable items to systems, policies, and processes with various stakeholders across the Agency with the goal to manage and provide oversight of project requirements (adequate and sufficient against client expectations), project schedules, issues and risk reporting and change management of work products.Major responsibilities include:1. Review and assess all findings and recommendations already identified by the client Program and IT organizations.2. Provide support to Agency stakeholders in software vendor contract review and proposed changes.3. Planning and Timelinea. Work with stakeholders across the Agency and software vendor to develop a realistic and achievable timeline for each phase of the project.b. Manage and track major milestones and ensure all phases remain on schedule.4. Manage updates and track issues.5. Assess the maturity of the current Change Management and recommend changes as may be required.6. Provide oversight for Change Management of program and project work products.7. Provide oversight for implementation of system configurations and upgrades.8. Provide oversight for the validation of User Acceptance Testing and End-To-End Testing for all system specifications, enhancements and upgrades.9. Mitigate conflicting interests with stakeholders across the Agency and assist in finding resolutions.10. Provide oversight of the software implementation.11. Report to agency program sponsor on status of the project, raise major issues, and facilitate decision making. Experience:1. Strong project management skills and experience of technology, people, and functions.2. Strong experience and skills in program/project governance and oversight.3. Strong experience and skills coordination and collaboration in a multi-stakeholder in program/project engagements.4. Strong experience and skills in program/project maturity assessments.5. Strong experience and skills in software Fit/Gap activities.6. Strong experience and skills in software vendor contract negotiations.7. Experience in deploying and supporting Salesforce applications preferred.8.
