Market Rate.-The Bank is doing a giant transformation project in Capital Markets on Trading systems. They are reimaging this complex bunch of trading systems to be put on the cloud. The system has enormous complexity.The Tech Writer will create Technical

Documentation for an audience of Architects, Developers, Engineers and production people an audience of programmers to enable the system to be put on the cloud. The Tech writer does not need to know Cloud.The tech writer must have Wall Street Bank or Asset Management or Brokerage system experience, (may consider big systems experience at a major name brand tech firm such as Google / Facebook / Amazonas a tech writer or as an ex-developer or ex architect.

Be a tech writer who can write for a technical audience a primary skills set (user guides for end users is not what we are looking for here, if someone mostly writes for programmers that is what we want, its ok if they have a little user guide experience.)

Be able to look at the legacy documentation and go through it to update it. This is the main job and its a big job.The final documentation will be put on their internal developer site. Experience / old or current with any programming language is helpful, not required. Knowledge of GIT is useful, as is HTML/ CSS (for the documentation on the internal developer site)Understanding System networking and data production / IT security is helpful, but not required. Be willing to read and sift through prior documentation and update it and figure out how to show that its updated, you may come up with a system that logs the updates.

The ProjectThe Consolidated Trade Ledger (CTL) is a highly ambitious project which reimagines the functional architecture needed to support the entire Global Markets trading business. This new, cloud native platform will provide the capacity, extensibility and scalability, and innovation capabilities to empower the next two decades of growth for Global Markets while also delivering operational efficiencies. This multi-year effort is based on an engineering-principles-first approach and aligns with the firms core technology strategy. CTL is a flagship project for both the Global Markets and Engineering divisions with significant senior level sponsorship.

Details of This RoleThe Core CTL Platform team is in need of an experienced Technical Writer to support the firms engineers and end users. In this role, you will create technical documentation for the CTL platform and update existing documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with product teams to understand their technical requirements for publication to our developer site.
  • Continuously improve CTLs technical documentation in collaboration with engineers, product managers, developer advocates, and other technical writers.
  • Partner with engineers and product managers to author developer documentation, including high-level overviews, references, examples, tutorials, and more.
  • Shape the development of documentation tools and their integration into the software development environment.
  • Work with product teams as they onboard onto our platform by guiding them through the process and getting hands-on with content creation.
Skills:

Requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • 5+ years experience with technical writing, with a focus on developer documentation.
  • Experience with Git, HTML/CSS, and at least one programming language (professional experience or otherwise).
  • Experience managing a doc-as-code environment and working with static site generators.
  • familiarity with networking concepts, and data protection/security concepts is preferred
  • Passion for assisting developers with documenting their product, from both a written and technical perspective.
  • Ability to work with the team to help thought lead the organization of technical materials and establish processes to ensure documents remain current and accurate
  • Ability to deliver against tight deadlines and handle multiple, competing demands.
